Ms C: The problem is that everything is basically explained on "Accursed Toys' Kamishibai FAQ: The What and How" already. I would write my own FAQ but it's all there! Hence, I will refrain from the technical (such that GElightbulb might understand) and briefly answer a few questions you might have. 8)

What's a Kamishibai?
Kamishibai is a type of storyteller program that was developed by Accursed Toys (C). It is very simple to use and quite interesting to write your own stories with the Kamishibai.

The word Kamishibai is Japanese (though I can't confirm much to my own experience since I'm Chinese-Canadian). The origins of kami is the old-fashioned storytellers in Japan, who went around towns with pictures and give presentations to the little squirts. Although the storyteller charged a little for their stories, they would still tell stories even if some kids didn't pay. Before these performances, the storyteller would give out candy to the squrits (hence the little bonbons at the side of the options in the viewer).

Where can I get a viewer?
You can go to Otakuworld for a viewer. Word of caution, the viewer itself is about 2 MB, but the stories that people submit tend to be quite large. You'll see.
Where can I get stories?
Since Otakuworld is the official site of Kamishibai, most stories are listed there in *.exe form. On the other hand, some kamiartists may choose to make kamis they don't submit to Otakuworld, and for these you may have to visit the Kamishibai Message Board for their announcements.
How do I make stories?
Once the viewer is downloaded, there should be a file called "New_text_document.txt" in the Stories folder. It should explain the structure of the story. For more information, go to the FAQ on Otakuworld's site.
Where can I submit stories?
You can submit them to Otakuworld's site. There's more information there on how to send them stories:
