I'm very proud of this comic. It was the only one I ever did that was published in a real comic book. It was first published in 1986 in a newsprint anthology called "The Big Picture Book", which contained short stories in comic form by four artisits. In 1991, it was later re-published in issue 2 of a neat anthology series called "Subterranean by Design".

A Dark Future
Back in 1986, post-apocalyptic fantasy was seriously in fashion for comics, movies (remember "The Terminator"?) and books. Just about every alternative comic published in 1986 seemed to have a post-nuclear "life sucks then you die" theme.

Well, I hope my contribution to this genre is a little more upbeat than its contemporaries. It focuses on a day in the life of RCMP Corporal Albert Smythe as he helps restore civilization to the Canadian northwest after some kind of global conflagration. I consider it to be fairly upbeat because its main character is working for the reconstruction of civilization instead of only for simple survival.
