Helen Reilly
US author of East-Coast based stories featuring Inspector McKee. 'Romantic' detective
novelist, whose stories are based around a love affair which the murder disrupts or
derails. McKee is a colourless character who appears only occasionally - most of the
novels are taken up with the activities of the heroine. Mrs. Reilly is also a member of
the Had-I-But-Known school: "Nina Bell wasn't the only one in North Dobney who
disliked her. Tess found that out very definitely less than five minutes later." (The
Double Man)
