George Bellairs

"Harold Blundell, a Manchester banker with close connections with the University of Manchester, was a Manx philanthropist who, in the mid-20th century, wrote over 40 detective stories under the pseudonym `George Bellairs'" (see Blundell site here). British author of many detective novels, some set on the Isle of Man, featuring Inspector (later Superintendent) Littlejohn. Standard themes but reasonably well-written.
