Ye Olde Dial a Dress - Instructions

This should be fairly straightforward. The dial-a-dress has four main menus - Bodices, Sleeves, Skirts, and Summary. Mouse over any menu to activate it. The active menu always has a background color, the rest do not. The active menu displays a content area. In Bodices, Sleeves, and Skirts, the content area allows you to change the dress shown in the picture by changing it's componants - ie, choosing an item in the Bodice Style select box will change the bodice style displayed in the dress picture. The Summary menu displays all current attributes of the dress shown. If you print the page with the Summary menu active, you have a list of exactly what you wanted for the dress.

All of the images for the dial-a-dress are supposed to be preloaded. For reasons not immediately apparent to me, sometimes one or two of them do not preload properly. If the images do not preload properly, there will be a noticable delay in the time it takes to display the dress attribute that corresponds to the missing image. If I figure out exactly what's causing this, I'll fix it.

I plan, eventually, to link this into the instructions on Sempstress, so I can display a list of links to instructions on how to make a dress just like the one you've got in the picture. That's a ways down the road. (First I have to write all of the instructions I don't have...) I'd also like to include a selection of hats.

If there's something you'd really like to see in the dial-a-dress, feel free to contact me. If something seems severely busted or buggy, please try quitting and restarting your browser and reloading the page before emailing me. Fortune city is a little cooky about serving files sometimes.
