George Eastman(1854-1932) began his photographic career as an American dry-plate manufacturer. He later went on to put the power of photography into the hands of the public when he introduced his Kodak camera in 1888. It was an invention without precedent, for ordinary citizens now how the ability to create images and preserve a graphic record of their lives and experiences. Much of what we know today about modern photography is beacause George Eastman allowed it to be enjoyed by everyone. This established photography to grow as an artform and a part of everyday life.
