SNOW FALL

by Dwight Millsap

_______________
Soft and beautiful the snow falls slowly down
It blankets the cold and dreary ground
The drab of winter is covered in white
Even in darkness the black is so bright
Flake after flake it quietly falls down
Hour after hour never making a sound
Sometimes swirling and drifting as the wind blows
Making wondrous sculptures from nature in snow
Glorious statues each unique in its own
Created by nature with snow gently blown
Little ripples, tuffs and drifts tipped with curls
As over around and under everything it swirls
Just plain water but crystallized in white
So simple to see but oh what a beautiful sight
No artist could capture what in nature is found
When snow falls and white blankets the ground
