Pink Powder Blush and a
QTIP: For blush

HALO: 4" of star garland or wedding ring
WAND: Round party toothpick or barbecue
skewer, small wooden star sprayed gold or silver
HANGER: 6" Gold thread or wire
Assembly Instructions
DRESS:
Cut 2 pieces of 6" wide enhanced sparkle
gold tulle* each 24" in length.
Fold each piece in half lengthwise and
place one on top of the other. Pin folded tulle edges in place with straight
pins to hold tulle and prevent it from moving as you baste. With a double
thickness of thread baste 1/8" from folded edge.
Gather up thread and tie dress securely.
Add your embellishments. Either use your glue gun or sew them on.
HEAD:
With low-melt glue gun, glue 1" wooden
bead to the top of thegathered dress.
FACE:
With black acrylic paint, place two dots
for eyes on wooden bead. Use a Q-tip to apply pink blush for cheeks.
Tie bow made from 6" of 1/4" gold ribbon and glue above dress in center
front under head.
Using the wooden end of the paint brush,
place end into the lid of the paint bottle. The small amount of paint in
the lid will be just enough paint to make your eyes. Dot the end of the
paint brush on the wooden knob and you should have a
perfect eye. Repeat.
ARMS & WAND:
Cut a white pipe cleaner 6" long, bend
in half, and glue the midpoint to the back of the head just above the dress.
Form elbows by bending each arm at midpoint. Glue a small wooden star to
the end of a round party toothpick. Spray with gold spray paint. Fold end
of pipe cleaner arm around wand.
HAIR: With low-melt glue gun, make a hairline and carefully apply hair. For the hair you can use Spanish moss, sheep’s wool, a gold pot scrubber or any of the craft hair available in your local craft store. You can also make your own doll hair. The instructions follow:
*How to make dolls hair: cut enough yarn (your choice of color) wet it; take a barbecue skewer or a pencil, what ever size you want the curls to be; wrap the yarn tightly around the skewer close together until you get to the end. Tape to secure. To dry: you can either leave it on a table and wait a several hours or put it in the microwave 1 minute at a time, decreasing until it is completely dry. Unravel and you have doll hair. You can use any type of thread for this, embroidery floss, thin ribbons, crochet threads, etc . . .
HALO: Glue wedding ring to top of head for a halo. A halo can also be made from 4" of star garland or a gold glitter stem (pipecleaner). Form a circle by meeting both ends of the garland or pipe cleaner and twist or glue ends. Glue to top of head.
WINGS: Tie a bow using 18" of Falk wire-edge gold flitter ribbon* and glue to back of angel to form wings.
HANGER: Cut a 6" gold thread or wire. Fold in half and tie a knot at the end. Glue to top of halo for hanger.

COMPLETE YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL PROJECT
Angel Dust
Add
this project with the Guardian Angel Bag
Make a paper tag, with the name "Angel
Dust" and with these instructions:
"For a little magic in your life, close
your eyes, sprinkle some on and make a wish. It it sparkles, you
wish will come true!"
Place about 1/4 c. of regular table salt in a large ziplock bag and a couple tsps. of coarse clear glitter (the irridescent ones) and 3 - 4 drops of essential or floral oi. Shake the bag to mix contents. Test it on a paper towl to make sure the oil doesn't stain the paper, and if it does, add mor of the dry ingredients until it doesn't. If you don't have essential oil, use anything that smells nice (i.e. cologne or vanilla extract, you get the picture). This quantity makes about 8 little packages.
Make 8 small envelopes using angel, victoria,
floral or whatever you choose. Glue sides of envelope with any good
paper glue. Sela the flap with a temprary glue stick. Place
about 1/2 tsp. of the Angel Dust in a baggie, or you can also use those
little jewlery plastic bags, they sell it at the craft stores. Makes
it easier for openning. Place one in each envelope.
MORE ANGEL CRAFTS
To decorate salt and pepper shakers with
lasting color to match your dinnerware, use paint for non-porous (slick)
surfaces. It will work over the etching. Replace the salt and pepper
lids with wooden balls to create these angels. Fill the inside with rose
hips, potpourri, or bath salts.

Flat, #4
Supplies:
B & B Etching Products Etchall Etching Creme*
Wooden ball heads (flat on one side), 1" and 1-1/4" in diameter
Contact paper, clear
Scissors
Spanish moss (hair)
Crocheted doilies, 4" round, white, 2
Thread, heavy-duty
Glue gun and sticks, low-temperature
Potpourri or mini rosebuds
Powdered cosmetic blush, pink
Old quilt or fabric for collars, 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" (small angel),
2" x 2-1/2" (large angel)
Ribbon, dark pink and blue, 6" for each angel
Cord for halo, gold, 6" for each angel
Spray sealer or finish (optional)
Preparation:
The lids for the shakers are not used
for this project.
If needed, widen the large angel apron
pattern to match the lines on octagonal shakers, and adjust the pattern
to fit around the base (it might be easier to trace a hem pattern for each
angel). Trace the apron, hem border, and bib patterns onto contact paper,
leaving an inch or more between the patterns. For easier handling,
cut the patterns apart. Because the etched areas are inside the pattern
lines, you need to make a negative template (stencil) by using scissors
to cut out the center of designs. Peel off the backing. Apply the templates
onto the shakers.
To etch the apron and hem areas, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Let set for 15 minutes. Using water, rinse off the creme. Thoroughly dry the shakers.
Painting Instructions:
Apron, Bib, Hems Side-load the #4 brush with Titanium White. Float scallops on the edges of the etched apron, bib, and bottom hems. Using a brush handle or stylus, add white dots.
Roses Mix a middle value of Deep Burgundy + Titanium White. Using the round brush or a large brush handle, paint a circle in the bottom center of the small angel's bib. Paint five along the bottom of the large angel's apron. Let dry.
Using a stylus and Deep Burgundy, make a dot just below the top edge of each circle (for the bottom of the bowl of the rose). To make the dark petals on the left side of each circle, use the round brush to pull three comma strokes from the outside edge toward the center. Be sure the top stroke is below the dot.
For the light petals on the right of each circle, mix a light value of Deep Burgundy + Titanium White or add more white to the middle value. Using the round brush, pull three comma strokes from the outside edge toward the center.
Leaves: Load the round brush with Avocado. Make a comma stroke on each side of the roses.
Flowers: These flowers are below the scallops on the small angel's hem and between the roses on the large angel's apron. Using the stylus and Victorian Blue, make a circle of five dots for each flower. Let dry. Dot the centers with Yellow Light. Paint Avocado comma stroke leaves between the flowers on the small angel.
Heads: Basecoat the wood with Hi-Lite Flesh. Let dry. Dot the eyes with the stylus and Lamp Black. Let dry. Using the cosmetic blush, rub on the cheeks.
Finishing: Lightly spray sealer on
the heads. Let dry. Fill the shaker with potpourri. For the collars,
hot-glue the quilt or fabric pieces onto the top of the shakers.
Hot-glue the heads onto the collar. Hot-glue moss onto the heads.
For the halos, make a circle from each piece of gold cord. Hot-glue
onto the hair. Tie the ribbons into bows. Glue one onto each angel at the
chin.

Fishing line, lightweight
Plastic yard sale sign (for template)
Mechanical sign
Surface:
The angels are painted on unbleached muslin,
cut out, and sewn with a batting filling and cotton fabric backing. The
edges are not turned under.
Preparation:
Make a template by transferring the outline
of the angel onto the yard sale sign. Cut out. Cut separate templates of
the arm (including the hand) and bonnet.
If the angels will be put on wearables, wash the muslin to remove the sizing, and press. For ornaments, washing is not needed. If painting directly on fabric, wash it first.
Using a pencil and a light touch, trace the angel outlines one-half-inch apart in rows across the width of the muslin. One-half yard will yield about 30 angels in three strips. (Flop the template for angels facing in the opposite direction.) Position the arm and bonnet template on an outline and trace around them. Repeat for the other angels. Cut apart the strips, then cut each strip in half (for easier handling). Note: Do not cut between each angel at this time.
Painting Instructions:
Steps for Painting the Design Color suggestions
follow these steps. Important: To prevent paint bleeding into another color,
base-paint the bonnet, arm, and wing. Let dry before painting the dress.
Let the dress dry before painting the shoe and hand.
Brush entire bonnet area with textile medium or water. Be sure to keep the edges crisp so paint will not bleed outside the outline. (Refer to the photo; not the unpainted area around the edge. After the angels are painted, they are cut apart and stitched, then cut out 1/8" larger than the outline.)
Dress the large flat with water. Side-load with the base color. With the paint side of the brush on the outline edge, start at the back where the greatest concentration of color will be and paint around the outline. The paint will bleed into the wet area, leaving a sharp edge where the fabric is dry.
Pick up a little shadow color on the side of the brush. Brush onto the back. Walk the color into the back with overlapping back and forth strokes.
Side-load again. Brush in the shadow at the back of the brim. Paint the wing and arm using the same technique. The bonnet, wing, and arm can be the same or different colors. Let dry. oBrush the dress with textile medium or water. Paint, using the same technique as for the bonnet. Brush an extra shadow down and back under the arm. Let dry.
Load the small brush with textile medium and paint. Paint the shoes, then the hand. Option: These areas do not need to be dampened first. Let dry.
Decorate with small calico prints, geometrics, etc. using only enough medium to keep the paint flowing. The design ideas shown in the photo are just the beginning of the possibilities. The designs can be place in a square or diamond grid or be completely random.
