submitted by: MAZX2@aol.com

Materials:

25 baby food jars
gold and green spray paint
piece of plywood
tinsel
minature Christmas ornaments
candy or other treats
glue that never lets go
gold stick on numbers from 1 -25
Directions:

Spray paint plywood gold. Spray paint lids of baby food jars green. Fill each jar with some sort of treat. Attach bottom of baby food jars to plywood in shape of christmas tree with four jars used as base. Attach numbers to jar lids starting at bottom of base and going up with 25 being the point. Decorate your tree with ornaments and tinsel as you see fit. You may open one jar each day in December as a countdown to Christmas. My family did this last year for our secret pal gift. It was a great success.

Hints, Tips and Friendly Advice:  Adult may want to spray paint.

Foam Tray Ornaments
submitted by Barb

Foam meat trays are great for making the little pop dots to raise a picture.  Use an apple corer to cut them out or just cut with scissors.  Apply with any kind of glue.  The store bought ones aren't that expensive, but every penny helps.  I have gotten into making stationary for people as gifts.  You can use the paper edgers for the border and any number of things to personalize...scraps of wall paper or contact paper, stencil, stamp, etc.  Put the same design on the back of the envelopes too.  Then take an old shoe box, bulk meat  box, etc., and cover with the contact paper or wall paper.  Tie a little ribbon on to fasten and inside the lid fasten a loop of ribbon for a pen to stick through.

Mayonnaise Jar Snowman
submitted by Gloria

32 oz. mayonnaise jar with lid, cleaned, label off and dry
rubber band, ribbon, some artificial greenery, small amount of fiberfill,
10 inch diam. black felt

Sponge paint the jar white--I did 2 coats.  With black acrylic paint any desired eye and mouth pattern.
NOSE: cut a 1 & 1/2 inch length piece of orange paper twist ribbon and  untwist it. Reroll the twist again until it is the size you desire and  one  end is pointed. Glue nose to jar.  You can paint his nose on with orange  paint also.  Then glue about a 4 inch diameter ball of fiberfill to the top  of the lid. Place the felt circle over the lid; and secure this with a  rubber band or string. Tie a piece of ribbon in color of your choice around  where the rubber band is. Glue greenery & flower to the ribbon.
For muffler  or scarf just tear a 1 &1/2 x 22 inch piece of fabric and knot
it around the  bottom of the jar.

Ribbon Poinsettias
submitted by: Bekka

Here's a project even kids can do...ribbon poinsettias...you can use all widths of ribbon (although #9 ribbon
(1 1/2")works really well..cut strips of ribbon about 6"or so...longer or shorter depending on size of poinsettias cut ends of ribbon at a sharp angle and both ends going at the same angle...cut 5 red ones and 4 green ones.. starting with red gather in middle..then take green...gather in middle under red...alternate red and green...red always to the top and green to the bottom...when all are gathered use a chenille stem (pipe cleaner)to fasten around where you've held all strips together...put a dab of glue in the center where chenille stem is and then sprinkle gold glitter...that makes the center of the poinsettia. use to decorate packages or put on picks and make little potted plants.
