Sewing Bobbin Pins
submitted by PJay Madinky
Take 3 sewing machine bobbins (metal with
holes around the edge), glue them in a line to a metal pin back (flat side
to the pin back), where there will be one hole on each bobbin down at the
bottom of each, and with a jump ring, dangle a charm from each of the three
bobbins. Ta-da! Since the bobbins only come in silver, if the
only charms you can find are brass (gold tone) you can glue a few little
flat hearts randomly on the front of the bobbins, or perhaps a scissors
charm to give it a "silver & gold" look. Any charms that have
a hanging loop that you don't need can usually be broke off by holding
the loop with needle
nose pliers and bending back and forth
till it breaks off.

Angel Pin
2" square Battenburg doily
3"round Battenburg doily
One 1/2" wooden mushroom button (I buy
mine at the hardware store)
mini rose
1 1/2" gold trim or chenille stem (for
halo)
pin back
floral wire
pink paint or blush
black paint or permanent marker
white paint
Fold three loops of the 3" round doily to the front of the doily and crease.
Fold in each side towards the center to form a pleat for the Angels body (it will look sort of like a collar with the center loop hanging down a little lower in the middle). Glue in place.
Pinch and gather the center of the 2" square doily. Tie with the floral wire. This is the wings. Glue the wings to the top edge on the back of the body.
Glue the mushroom button head to the body
and wings. Dab a small amount of pink on (or use a Q-tip to add blush)
for the cheeks. Using other end of your paint brush put two dots
on for eyes (remember that they should be near the center of the button,
not near the top, this will make them look more realistic). Now put
a tiny fleck of white near top edge of eyes (make
sure that the flecks on same side, i.e.,
if it is on the right side of eye on one, make sure it is on the right
side of the other).
Use the 1 1/2" trim (or chenille stem) to form a circle or oval. Glue the halo to the back of the head.
Glue the mini rose to the neck of the Angel (just under button chin).
Glue the pin to the back of the Angel wings.
