Fabric Yo -Yo Valance

Materials needed:
 3/4yd. green print, 1yd. blue print and 1/4yd. yellow print cotton or
cotton/poly material - thread- needle-tape measure
Finished size: Valance is 35x12-1/2in.  Tiebacks are 16-1/2in long

Cut:  33--4-3/8in. green print circles   63---4-3/8in. blue print circles 11---3-3/8in. yellow print circles.  Also cut one 4-1/4 x 36-1/2in. green print piece for curtain rod sleeve.

YO-YO's:  fold the edge of each fabric circle under 3/16inch with your thumb as you use a short running stitch to stitch around the circle with matching thread, leaving long thread ends.  Pull threads tightly to gather to a 1/4 inch opening, then tie thread ends to secure and clip ends close to knot. Flatten each yo-yo with your fingers with opening centered.

Assembly: Valance: Arrange yo-yos (open side up) for valance. Use matching or white thread from wrong side to hand-tack edges together.  Press both short ends of curtain rod sleeve piece under 1/4 inch.  Fold under again and press.  Edgestitch inside folds at each end.  Fold sleeve piece in half lengthwise, wrong sides together.  Stitch long edges together in a 1/4 inch seam.  Turn right side out.  Press with seam along one edge.  Spread out light green yo-yo valance on a flat
surface.

Place sleeve piece (seam at bottom) just above yo-yo valance.  Pin adjoining edges together.  Hand-tack yo-yos to sleeve with light green thread.

Tiebacks:  Arrange remaining yo-yos (open side up) in two lines of eight yo-yos each, alternating blue and green print yo-yos.  Handtack adjoining
