Poetry of the Soul

Awake in the Night

Awake in the night
To find something not right,
I look frantically around,
I listen for a sound.

Where is it coming from,
And what next might become,
I hear steps coming down the hall,
I know I am fixing to fall.

I want to go hide,
Is there a place I can go outside,
Nope he will find me,
He will never let me be.

I wish I could forget the pain,
And learn from this what I can gain,
Oh how I want to heal,
but at times its all to real.

I want to run away from it all,
but when I do I always fall,
There is a reason to fight,
Because maybe for once I may be right!!!!!
